It’s the very definition of the online meme of “first world problem” and Sioux Falls residents don’t shy away from it.
“Seriously, these storms keep happening on Thursdays. How am I supposed to get a nice 3 day weekend if work is canceled on Thursday instead of a Friday or a Monday? No one ever thought a storm on a Thursday was a good idea,” said one local citizen we spoke with.
The looming storm is on pace to completely annihilate every living thing within 50 miles of Sioux Falls, which means adults get one last snow day.
“I’m looking forward to the snow day, but why does it have to be on a Thursday? I was really hoping for a Friday or Monday storm to hit one time this winter. I suppose if it’s better than having to work though, so there’s that,” said another citizen we spoke with.
Meteorologists are expecting this storm to basically erase South Dakota off the map for at least a couple days, which sits well with some, but not all.
“Okay, I’m officially sick of winter. It’s almost mid-April and we’re still getting snow? I’m going to seriously start looking at cities in the south where they don’t get snow! South Dakota officially sucks just because of snow,” said another citizen we spoke with.
Good luck out there, everyone!
