As fall and winter claw their way into South Dakota, local citizens are
wondering whether or not the Sioux Falls Canaries even had a season this
year.

“I love baseball, but I definitely forgot we even had a semi-professional
baseball team here. I haven’t remembered they were here for a couple seasons now. Maybe since they were the Fighting Birds, or whatever,” said one local baseball fan who forgot the Canaries exist.

This isn’t the first summer citizens have forgotten the local baseball team
exists. Let us not forget the publicity stunt of changing their names to the Fighting Pheasants, or whatever.

“Honestly, I don’t even care for baseball, but with all the talk about getting a new baseball stadium downtown, I slightly remembered we had a semiprofessional team in Sioux Falls. They’re called like the birds or whatever,” said one local citizen we spoke with.

The Sioux Falls Canaries have seen numbers steadily decline in recent
years, from eight fans to six fans.

“I’m still here, baby! The six of us will never leave the guys in the dugout!” said one of the six fans the Canaries still have.

Let’s all hope they are not forgotten for a 6th straight summer.
