Area classrooms have been filled to the brim lately with citizens looking to improve their protest sign making skills.

“You just never know when you’re going to be in need of a good protest sign. I’m here hoping I can really work on my lettering. There’s really an art to protest signing,” said one protest sign maker.

Protest sign making has made a recent comeback all over the country, so it’s no surprise it has picked up steam locally.

“You see these signs in Washington DC, New York, California, so we asked ourselves, ‘why can’t we?’ Protest sign making is one of the most American things you can do,” said one protest sign maker we spoke with.

It is still unclear as to why area protest sign making classes have been so popular over the past week.

“We still have no idea why the class rooms have been so jampacked over the past week. But, I’m so glad. It’s really brought out the creativity I believe this city has to offer,” said one protest sign making professor.

Protest sign making classes continue through November.
