Yesterday, Mayor Paul TenHaken announced a brand-new show coming to Sioux Falls.

“Narcotics Crime Unit” or as some are calling it, “NCU” will be a show focused on how a specialized unit of men and women will hide out in bushes and behind light poles to catch sneaky marijuana users in the Sioux Falls area.

“It’s going to be so great for the community! I can’t wait to show some clips at City Council meetings,” said Mayor Paul TenHaken.

It’s still not known why exactly Sioux Falls needs a specialized crime fighting unit to complement the Sioux Falls Police Department.

“Well SFPD has a lot of speed traps they need to be setting up. We’ll be hiding with them in plain sight, like police officers are supposed to do,” said one representative from the new unit.

NCU’s ratings will be sure to spike during downtown events.

“Downtown events are huge for marijuana users. They usually hang out and smoke casually and that’s when we come in and bust them for narcotics charges. Marijuana is basically the same as heroin or meth,” said one SFPD representative.

It’s still unclear which station NCU will be aired on.
