A sea of blue and red has taken over Sioux Falls, and it has city officials fearing for the worst.

Many of these gang members have come from the towns of Brookings and Vermillion in efforts to take the national championship of smoke blowing.

This is not the first time these gangs have met, though.

Every year the gangs travel to each other’s towns for a showdown between the two oldest and most prestigious gangs in South Dakota.

“We’re ready for whatever they got,” said one Blood from Vermillion.

“They’ve got one thing figured out. Sioux Falls will run red…with their blood,” said one Crip representing Brookings or “B-Town” as they call it.

Many Sioux Falls citizens are eager for the gangs to finally leave their cities.

“I just want to go to my local sports bar and be depressed without a bunch of people in blue or red yelling at me,” said one local we spoke with.

Bloods Women vs Crips Women start at 1pm today.

Bloods Men vs Crips Men start at 8pm tonight.
